Health Psychology (PSYC 219)

Making sense of mind/body connection and developing ways to influence positive health behaviors are major focuses in this course. This is a great class to take if you are interested in a career that incorporates psychology and health care. Be sure to note the prerequisite of PSYC& 100: General Psychology!

Hospitals and outpatient medical settings are very comfortable environments for me. Most of my clinical training in graduate school was in hospitals and outpatient clinics including the UMass Medical Center in Worcester and VA hospitals in the Boston area. I spent most of my internship and all of my postdoc at Children’s Hospital and Medical Canter in Seattle. I also worked in the Family Practice Residency at Swedish Hospital. In my private practice, I enjoyed collaborating with medical professionals on patient care.
